Workshop Description

Workshop participants will learn storytelling techniques for working with children though demonstrations, participation in dramatic play therapy games, experientials and role-playing practice exercises. These storytelling tools are applicable to therapists, teachers, and educators working with children in a variety of settings as they assist with building empathy,  collaboration, narrative processing and meaning making. 

About the Presenter

Jennifer Gillett currently works as the Lead Early Childhood Educator at the Children’s Museum of Manhattan, and has previously held positions at the Skirball Cultural Center, in the Los Angeles Unified School District, and at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County. Jennifer is an educator who focuses on teaching through the arts, and is especially interested in causes rooted in humanitarian work, world cultures, and social justice. Jennifer is also an actor with a strong performance background in puppetry and movement.
